BH Cares strives to make a difference in ways large and small. |
In 2011, B.H. Properties launched B.H. Cares as a way to reach out to the local community in Los Angeles and to support organizations that help make a difference in the lives of others. It’s the company’s belief that it can have a positive impact on the community in which our employees live and work. The positive influence that BH Cares strives to foster is felt and echoed by the employees’ individual efforts as well.
Our two initial events were very well attended by BH employees and met with great enthusiasm.
The first event was at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles in July, 2011. More than 50 BH’ers attended in support of the families who live at the Mission as those families struggle with changing economic times. For the past 121 years, Union Rescue Mission has been caring for the homeless. They provide a comprehensive array of social services for those that seek refuge with the organization. From emergency shelter, food and clothing to primary health and dental care, mental health, legal aid, GED courses, physical education, recovery programs, life skills classes, job training and long term housing; They provide a platform for life transformation to take place for those that want change.
The second event was in support of Victor Community Support Services in San Bernardino. The BH team worked in tandem with the organization to bring holiday gifts and cheer to the children and families who attended.
Victor Community Support Services provides behavioral and therapeutic support services to underprivileged families. They offer both individualized and group therapy sessions, and host workshops for families who have children with mental disorders or who have suffered from abuse. The mission of the organization is to be a catalyst for sustained improvement in the lives of those they serve.
