BH Properties Hires Peter Horn to Launch New San Francisco Office
San Francisco, CA—February 07, 2024 — BH Properties, a vertically integrated, value-add real estate investment company, has announced the opening of a new regional office in San Francisco. The firm has appointed real estate investment veteran Peter Horn to the position of Managing Director of Acquisitions to lead the firm’s Bay Area growth strategy. The new regional office, the firm’s sixth, is located in Anchorage Square, BH Properties’ recently acquired mixed use development in Fisherman’s Wharf.
“We have been looking for opportunities to expand our operational presence in the Bay Area for quite some time, and our recent acquisitions of Anchorage Square and the 60-acre former campus of Holy Names University in Oakland, presented a great opportunity to do just that,” said Jim Brooks, President of Los Angeles-based BH Properties. “Peter is an opportunistic investor who has the expertise and relationships to uncover new opportunities throughout Northern California.”
Horn comes to BH Properties after serving as Partner and Head of Investments for San Francisco-based Soma Capital Partners, a privately owned Bay Area commercial real estate investment company, where he spent 11 years sourcing, structuring, and closing value-add investments with follow-on responsibilities that included financing, asset management, and dispositions. With more than 13 years of experience in the investment banking and real estate investment industries, he brings a unique blend of macro and micro perspectives to the real estate investment process.
Horn, who will be focused on expanding the company’s acquisition and asset management opportunities in Northern California, is known for his deal sourcing and transaction acumen as he has experience across the risk spectrum and capital stack in all major property types: industrial, multifamily, self-storage, R&D, retail, and office. In his prior role, Horn was instrumental in the deal sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and closing of more than 2.7 million SF. Over the course of his career, he has completed more than $1 billion in transaction volume in both GP and LP positions.
“Being based in San Francisco, I understand the disruptive impact technology has on our industry, and I work to stay at the forefront of emerging trends and investment opportunities in a rapidly evolving landscape. BH Properties’ history of success and ability to move quickly and decisively are a great fit for my experience and skillset.”
Horn is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, where he earned his B.B.A. in Finance, graduating summa cum laude with Honors as a Foundation Fellow, the university’s top undergraduate scholarship. The San Francisco office is located in Fishermen’s Wharf at Anchorage Square, 2800 Leavenworth Street, Suite 260, San Francisco, CA 94133.
