For over 100 years, The City of Hope continues to lead the fight in cancer treatment and research as one of only 54 National Cancer Institute (‘NCI’) designated comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S.  The NCI designation recognizes excellence in treatment, research, and expertise to address the many faces of the disease, whether in early or late stages, and for common or rare types of cancer.  Giving back has always been a part of BH Properties culture.  We are especially proud to be a sponsor of the City of Hope’s Mobile Prevention and Screening Unit. Cancer is a disease that touches all of our lives, and this innovative mobile unit enables them to deliver critical cancer detection services to those unable to access them on their own. Please join us in support of this great mission. @City of Hope.

    UCLA Medical Assistant Training Program

The Steve and Farah Gozini family proudly supports its local community by empowering aspiring medical professionals through education and training. Their recent gift to the UCLA Medical Assistant Training Program will provide more students the opportunity to take advantage of this intensive 12-month program, offered through a partnership between UCLA Health and UCLA Extension. This program combines the theory and practical experience necessary to prepare students to transition successfully into a career as a medical assistant. Medical assistants are critical players in team-based healthcare by helping physicians care for patients with administering medications, taking vital signs, performing administrative functions and undertaking other crucial tasks. The Gozinis’ gift allows the program to train more Angelenos for this work and addresses a critical personnel shortfall, while giving these professionals a promising career and future in healthcare.

      Special Shout Out

To accommodate increased patient traffic due to COVID-19, BH Properties made a $250K gift for the “Surge Tent.” CEO of BH Properties, Steve Gozini, wanted to give back to the community that supported his family, the doctors and nurses who cared for his three children who were born at Saint John’s and his father before he passed away, and for his mother, who’s a current patient. Steve and his family are impressed by the services and care provided by the health center and believe that others should consider supporting the hospital for its great service to the community. “You’ll never know when you need them,” says Steve.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, BH Properties provided funding to the Alliance College-Ready Public School Foundation to purchase Wi–Fi hotspots and data plans for 225 low-income scholars.

This will ensure that these scholars have access to the internet and high quality digital learning opportunities during the pandemic.

Alliance College-Ready Public School Foundation strengthens the community’s support and investment in Alliance College-Ready Public Schools (Alliance). Alliance is one of the largest and most successful nonprofit public charter school networks in the nation, operating 28 high-performing, tuition-free middle and high schools in Los Angeles’ most underserved communities. Alliance has a proven record of success for 13,000 scholars and 14,000 alumni, 97% of whom are scholars of color.

Ninety-five percent of Alliance scholars have graduated from high school and been accepted to college, 71% to a four-year university.
